The Challenge
Design a new supply chain model to provide logistics support to the construction of the Type 26 Frigates on the River Clyde.

The Solutions
New centralised warehouse to store all the parts required for the ship build.
A warehouse management system (WMS) to accurately track parts through the warehouse processes.
A stores solution to prove lineside support to the manufacturing function, supplying consumables, safety equipment and tooling.
Inbound transport from suppliers worldwide.
Outbound transport of parts to the shipyards.
Packaging of parts in transit.

The Results
A new supply chain solution delivered in time for the commencement of the build programme that increased stock availability significantly.
The project was awarded the BAE Systems Chairman’s Award.
